In Office Space, the directorial debut of Mike Judge (Beavis and Butthead and King of the Hill fame), John plays Bob Slydell, a consultant brought in by the company (Initech) to downsize the corporation.

He has a pretty small role, but it's a good one. He confesses that he is a Michael Bolton fan to one of the employees, and he celebrates Bolton's complete collection.
