Nothing To Lose is a comedy about an advertising executive (Tim Robbins) who gets mixed up at home and thinks his wife is cheating on him. So he goes off in his truck and gets hijacked by a hoodlum (Martin Lawrence), and they end up in the desert somewhere. These two eventually rob a bank and that leads to the entrance of John.

This role has to be on the top of my list as a favorite role for John. He plays Davis "Rig" Lanlow, an all around nasty fuck. He and Charlie (Giancarlo Esposito) are the bad guys in the movie, robbers who get the blame for the robberies that Robbins and Martin's characters do(one white guy, one black guy. See the mix up?). So the real crooks see the fake crooks in the act and chase them throughout the whole movie.

John displays once again in this movie that he is great actor. Not only does he go all out for the role acting-wise, he also makes his character have depth with his looks alone. He sports a shaved head, a handlebar mustache, and a bull-like nose ring. He looks very intimidating wearing the rough, almost biker-like outfit, violently inhaling a cigarette constantly.

To give the character even more emotion, he goes into his trademark* upset mode, where he gets all frustrated and emotional at times. Dont get me wrong, he's not being a wuss, far from it, it's the kind of upset when you get all frustrated at the fact that somethings eating away at you that makes you almost cry. Trust me, watch it and see.
